Song 3 – Beautiful by Christina Aguilera

Beautiful by Christina Aguilera (2002) is copyrighted and I have no rights over it. I am one of the millions of people who watched and loved the song.

The human body can do wonders. Everyone who knows a mom before she became a mom, and afterwards, knows the changes that the mom went through – mentally, physically and emotionally as well. So many many changes that make her an entirely different person in a short duration and by the time she realizes the many changes and gets comfortable in it, people start ridiculing her for how she is. This happens both ways

  • LAZY MOM WHO MILKS THE MOMMY PHASE: A mom who gained a few kilograms, a few extra flabby skin sagging here and there, a tired face and an exhausted body. Dare her to ask someone for help!
  • HOUSEWIFE MOM: A working woman who gave birth to an offspring and wanted to spend some time at home more than the period stipulated by the government (willingly or due to the lack of support system – physically or emotionally).
  • MONEY-MINDED MOM: A mom who gets back to her office after her maternity leave due to various reasons (mostly financial stability of the family).
  • SANTOOR MOM: Yes, that is a name now! A mom who gets fit and looks healthy. A Santoor mom is usually praised but also ridiculed for looking nothing like a mom but more like a college student.

All these moms are doing what they can do, how they can do it and whenever they possibly can do what they do. But the folks around can find fault with every single mom. A judgy aunty is no more just a nosy neighbor or a ridiculous relative. A fellow colleague, an instagram follower, her own mom or mother in law too sometime turn into an insensitive judgy aunty indifferent to the emotional roller coaster that they unknowingly send the mom in.

The song, ‘Beautiful’ is a wonderful composition whose lyrics remind me to appreciate myself and be more forgiving to the high expectations that I set for myself. I totally love her vibes in the song and it will definitely give you the boost that your very well deserve. Here is a small excerpt from the song.

You are beautiful
No matter what they say
Words can’t bring you down
Oh no!
You are beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can’t bring you down
Oh no!
So don’t you bring me down today

Here’s the whole song:

  1. Lovely interpretation of prompt and I agree we should try to avoid setting a higher expectation from ourselves. it is better to enjoy and live life with the positive things that God has blessed us. #Unapologeticgirlz
